On the Ball - September 10, 2011

Ok, since we manage ourselves, we have moved some responsabilities around. Rusty is now doing a lot of the booking. However, you still need to contact me at jc@maxparish.com and I will forward the info to him. we hope top be going full throttle again by the Fall.

Kinda Slow - September 7, 2011

Ok...the gigs have been far and few between lately but that is due to some personal stuff that has come up on behalf of all thee of the guys. Do not Fear...Max. P is still together and playing random shows. In fact, we are going to make a push for a Lot more shows this fall and winter...so stay in touch.

the NEW Peppermill - June 12, 2011

This place has had a complete makeover.

Truth be told, the Pepprrmill Lounge in east Ft Woth has always been the band's favorite venue. However, in the past, poor service, shady dealings and too much smoke led it to shut down over a year ago. But that was then and this is now, and the Peppermill has risen again.

The Owner has dumped over $70,000 into bringing the Mill back to life. The main improvement is 3 brand new smoke eaters to keep the air clear. Then there is new flooring, a new bar, fresh paint every where, and improved bath rooms. A waitress is always on hand now as well so no more trips to the bar when you got a table.

Bottom line is...if you gave up on the Peppermill, it is time to give it a second chance. Max. P. has had its best shows of all time in this place and we hope to do it again.

C ya Sat June 18 9:30p-2a.

Chance Encounter - May 6, 2011

Don't forget the show this weekend at Ferocious Ambush Roadhouse in Burleson. You can get the address in past news posts and on the dates page of this site.

Now, to the chance encounter had by JC.

At the end of last night's band rehearsal, JC was wrapping up when a lady walked up and asked if he was in the band. Not really liking strangers walking up to the guarded practice room, He politely answered her question with a quick yes and tried to convince her he was real busy and had no time to talk. This tactic is taken, not to be rude, but to keep people from peering into the room to see what kind of equipment could wind up an a thieve's wish list. A man was walking up behind her and obviously with her when JC stood up and faced them...with his Maxfield Parish T-shirt on. The woman gasped and asked if JC played in that band. JC replied that he was the original founding member and had been in the band for over 12 years. That's when her boyfriend stated that he had played in the band as well. WHAT?! JC had never seen this guy before but had an idea of what he was talking about. The dude may have very well Played in a Band called Maxfield Parish. So the interrogation began.

JC asked the guy if he knew a Johnny Kar. the guy responded by asking JC if he meant John Karpinko. BINGO! John Karpinko and Johnny Kar are one in the same. This guy and Johnny had been in a band when they were teenagers (a long time ago) and called it Maxfield Parish. When he joined forces with JC several years ago, that band was called DEDLOK. As the band began to play more and more cover tunes and backed off from its heavy roots, a named change was called for. Several names were thrown into a hat and Maxfield Parish was the only name Johnny could come up with. John told us it was the name of one of his old bands. We took it as our moniker and it has stuck ever since.

So, in an empty remote parking lot, late at night, Misfiled Parish met Maxfield Parish. It was freaky but music is a very small world and these encounters happen.

Johnny was left the band about 5 or 6 years ago due to some changes in his life at the time. It was not a friendly split and JC has not been in touch with Johnny since his departure. However, JC was given some info on John recently.

Turns out Johnny had a near death experience with pneumonia and, finally, had to quit smoking. All of us, including JC, wish him happiness.

World Tour II Begins!!! - April 26, 2011

And, yes, that means we are playing the Peppermill...over and over again. Two weeks ago, the place came down with our triumphant return to west Arlington. This weekend, and we do mean WEEKEND, we play Friday and Saturday nights. Show times start at 9p and go until they kick us out at 2am. The place has a new even colder AC, a refurbished bar, floor and ceiling and way better management. C' ya'.

You rocked the Peppermill! - April 16, 2011

Last nights show at The peppermill was as good as it gets. about 50 of our friends mingled in with house regulars and some random straglers to make Max. P.'s return to the Mill a happy one. Some old faces from many years ago showed up putting the frosting on our faces...we mean...the cake. Here's to many years of Peppermill Fun.

Peppermill This Friday - April 13, 2011

The boyz can't wait for this Friday! As we are all now learning, The Peppermill Lounge in Ft Worth (google for map) has re-opened with new management. The owner has put a trusted daughter in charge and the club has had a major renovation with new flooring, ceiling and a paint job.

This favorite haunt has been a major part of Max.P.'s long history. The band hopes to make much more history in the future there. You are invited to be a part of it too.

PEPPERMILL TO REOPEN! - January 20, 2011

That's right...the word is the Peppermill, our most favoritest place to play ever, is scheduled to open sometime in March. JC talked to the lovely owner, Kitty, who told him she is planning on opening the water hole back up after a 2 year shut down. Her daughter is slated to take the reigns and bring it back to life. JC may help book bands and, of course, one of those bands will be Maxfield Parish.

For those of you new to the band's friend list, The Peppermill has hosted Maxfield Parish shows for over 10 years. Too many fun times to mention have happened there. It is smallish, has a very cool dance floor and the lighting makes the whole place a rock and roll heaven. When Max. P. and their friends gather in this place, everyone gets into the act.

The Boys can't wait and expect to perform there at least twice a month till the end of time....

Ambushed Again - October 24, 2010

The Ferocious Ambush Roadhouse in Burleson is fast becoming a favorite for the band. Good service, food and drinks. Kim and her wild bunch always make it fun too. You gotta see this place.

Hangman's - October 24, 2010

Man was last Saturday Fun at hangmans. A huge crowd and lots of gouls. Several friends showed up to suport us and get the crap scared out of them. JC's Grandson and Rusty's son made the Satge debutes on drums and guitar...they rock.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! - August 31, 2010

Sunday, Sept 12 Max P. helps wind the weekend down at Ferocious Ambush in Burleson, TX, 3 miles east of I-35w on Fm 1187...you can't miss it. Show is from 4pm - 8pm so you can get home in plenty enough time to wash off what ever you got into earlier that day. JC, Russ and Casey are adding new material weekly so come see what they got up their sleeves this time.

You Rocked Burleson's Ass Off! - August 22, 2010

Yeah you did! Another throng of 30+ Max friends set yet another example of how to rock a night away at Ferocious Ambush Roadhouse in Burleson, TX last night, Sat, Aug 21. Major Kudos go out to Jackie for introducing us to a load of her friends, who took the opportunity to turn it into a birthday party for one lucky dude. (The cake was naughty and you should have seen him take the first bite...or should we say, lick.) Of course the band all ate a piece for good luck....and we do mean piece. We sang happy birthday to another guy named Brian. We think there were about 4 birthdays in the house but we lost count...so happy birthday to everyone from last night! Anyway, as a public service announcement for all dudes, if you haven't been to a show lately, you are missing out on some really hot chicks. We don't know why....we aren't complaining...but we don't know why most of our friends are female and like to dance. Some are spoken for, some are not, but, they all like to have fun and are just damn good to look at. On a kind of a sad note, there was a girl named Kelly who was having a going away party. She was leaving the very next day and was saying goodbye to about 15 friends. We dedicated about 5 songs to her. The last one was about leaving and not wanting to and saying goodbye. It was a tear jerker but we hope we helped her friends realize how special the moment was and what kind of a friend they we sending off.
It was an honor to play for the birthdays and going aways. That is one of the reasons we do this. Hope to see you soon. Join the party.

This Saturday Rox! - August 16, 2010

Thats right, Max.P. and you need to take the rock to the southern extremeties of Tarrant County this Saturday, Aug 21 from 9p-1a. That would be Burleson, TX, to be exact, and this place has the classic roadhouse feel. The place is called Ferocious Ambush Roadhouse and can be found almost exactly 3 miles east of I-35W on FM 1187. Trust us, you can't miss it. Plenty of seats, parking, burgers and stuff, pool tables and a dance floor. Come check it out. Check the dates link on this site for the address or google ferocious Ambush Roadhouse and you will find a map.

C'ya.

Max is Fun.... - August 10, 2010

And you are Max. Our last show was a reminder of the good ol'e days. A huge crowd of friends, mostly women we might add, showed up at Bourbon St Blues Bar and helped us blow the doors off and give the club its best night in its short history. We are so lucky to have so many hot girl-friends, and they can burn a dance floor up. If you are a dude, you can come to our shows too. The chicks await. This is fun!

No More Auditions... - August 10, 2010

Damn it!!!! So many flakes out there!!! So... we ain't looking for a guitarist or female singer right now. Why should we? Hell, we have more fun than the law allows with this 3 piece line-up. Why mess that up. So, our search for an extra member is over. 3 members is enough...if you get what we mean.

Audition Updates - June 1, 2010

Rusty, Casey and JC are playing gigs but are looking for some supporting characters to build on the over all sound. Last Sunday eveneing, a guitarist and female singer/keyboardist came out to audition. Both showed promise and are being asked to come back for a second and longer look. The guitarist can play lead very well and that is what we are looking for. The female can Play the crap out of the keys, sings very well and has a lot of attitude, which could be the missing link we have been looking for since searching for a Max-Woman.

We will keep you posted and make plans on JUly 3rd, our first "real" gig back on the scene at a happenin' Road House in Burleson.

On the Up! - May 18, 2010

Casey, JC and Rusty made an appearnace at Ferocious Ambush Road House in Burleson last Sunday. It was open mic night and Max. P. took the opportunity as a chance to audition for the popular southern Tarrant County watering hole.

There was a nice stage, plenty of eating and drinking and several nice custom bikes in front of the F.A. Road House. Around 50 patrons, mostly biker types, were enjoying the house band when the guys got there. It wasn't long before the Maxsters were invited to take the stage and play a few songs, which, due to crowd reaction, turned into a whole 45 minute set. The owners were there and said they would like to do some booking. You can say the audition went well. When we get dates, we will let you know because it is a rockous place with plenty of atmosphere and fun.

Things are looking up. Rusty is back in the band for the time being (only able to play Saturdays and Sundays). In fact, there is a good chance that he will be our full time Sat. & Sun. ax-man for a while. Casey is handling more and more lead vocal duties on new material from Kings of Leon, Neil Young, The Chillie Peppers and more. We are searching for a lead guitarist and female singer/musican, however, it will not stop us from giging. Stay tuned for dates and newz!

Dio Passes! - May 17, 2010

If Heavy Metal had royalty, Dio would be King!

A friend of our was a friend of his. Yes, an average person like all of us struck up and accidental relationship with the legend 20 years ago. And, like a true king, Dio valued this freind, even though lesser legends would not have deemed a meer mortal worthy. This proves to us that Dio was rightfully known as "the nicest guy in metal".

Bang for ever our brother!!
Bang for ever!

lead guitar needed - April 19, 2010

Entertaining cover band, uh...that would be us, Maxfield Parish, seeks a lead guitarist that wants to have fun. We are not your ordinary cover band. We cover any and all genres. That could be modern rock, classic rock, metal, country, pop, etc, etc... If its dance able, we play it. Nothing gets played exactly like the CD and everything gets rocked up a bit. We put on a show and will do anything to catch the attention of the audience.

Vocal ability is a plus but no mandatory. Any age sex or color is welcome.

Must have a love for music because we are currently not in the “A” rooms. We are working our way up the food chain. Pay is meager right now but the good paying gigs are our goal. It will take hard work and commitment.

We have a fully equipped practice place in Haltom City with drum kit, bass and guitar rig and PA.

Respond for audition info or any questions you may have. Check song list tab to the left of this page for our current material.

Rock, country, alternative, pop, metal, disco....it's all good! But don't take our word for it....

Startin From Scratch...Kinda' - April 2, 2010

The last several months have not been kind to Maxfield Parish. The economy has cost us two guitarists. One female singer just magically disappeared and our latest guitarist was just not having fun.

So, it is up to JC and Casey, once again, to keep it alive. A last gig will be honored at Home Plate on Saturday April 17 with our old buddy, Rusty, on guitar. It will be fun as hell for you all know, when Rusty was a full time member, we would always have a blast - no matter what.

Max. P. Is currently looking for a full time guitarist. He/she will need to be at least of moderate caliber lead ability. Having a smile would be a big plus.

If you know of anybody who may want the job, please let us know.

Have no fear, Maxfield Parish will be back and soon.... and you will be the first to know about it..
