Stumpys Kicked Ass! - October 25, 2009

Max. P. didn't do too bad either. A packed Stumpy's house witnessed the return of Maxfield Parish to the local scene. The dance floor got shined up by many a boot and sneaker. Head banging, goat roping and disco teching...it was all good. Mel's first real gig where she was featured all night on lead and backing vocals seemed like she had done it before (she is a toughie). Ray...what can we say? His style was a tasteful shred and his energy extended from his guitar to the crowd. Rusty, JC and Casey breathed huge sighs of reliefe knowing that these two additons to the band were absolutely for the betterment of the band. bar personnel gave us promising feedback. Max ix back and don't miss it.

You say goodbye, I say hello.. - October 20, 2009

Yes, there will be some goodbyes and some hellos at these next two show. And how many times this writter rhyms...nobody knows. Oh...sorry....

Our guitarist for over a year, Rusty, has been hit by the economy and had to take on a night job to suppot his bun in the oven. The 24th gig at Stumpy's (read news below) and the 31st at Hamngman's House Of Horrors wil be the last for him. It will be sad but it must be.

Never fear, Rusty was cool enough to help find his own replacement and we are pleased to announce the newest Max-Axman in town, Ray.

Both guys will be part of these rare two guitar shows for Mafield Parsish. So come wish Rusty well and give Ray hell this Saturday at Stumpy's or next Saturday at Hangman's House of Horrors.

Jc can't get dates right!!! - October 18, 2009

Anyone who knows JC...knows he could not keep a calendar if his life depended on it. Guess what? His life does depend on it. He wrote that we were playing Stumpy's in Nov when he ment to say that we are playing in Oct. Oct 24. Next week. Next Saturday. Be there. read the next couple of news bitz for details.

2 weeks to go - October 14, 2009

Sat. Oct. 24 Stumpy's Blues Bar.
2811 W Division St
Arlington, TX 76011 (817) 274-0406
9pm - 2am

We have been practicing our asses off for the grand re-re-re-re-re-return of Max.P. And where better to start this new venture than an "A" room like Stumpy's Blues bar in Arlington - no pressure - just can't screw up - and if you know us - this may be worth watching. Hahahahahaha.

No, really, we are ready to get back and jam. We have added a lead guitarist named Ray. You gotta see him! Mel, our new femenine ass kicker will prove that she fits in this rough and tumble band. JC and Casey will be smiling so hard it hurts. Rusty will be playing one of his last gigs with us and will be making his farewells.

This aint your daddy's Maxfield Parish! Come check it out!

HALLOWEEN!!! - September 18, 2009

Maxfield parish has been blessed with the opportunity to donate thier time to Ft Worth's Hangman's House of Horros, 2300 West Fwy
Fort Worth, TX 76102-5846
(817) 336-4264,
for the last several years. It has just been confirmed that the band has received the highly coveted halloween night gig...which happens to be on a Saturday! It is a family event...so take the kids trick-or-treating and bring them out to get rocked out by Max. P. It is free to enter the carnival area where the band performs. There will be music no matter what kinda weather there is. BOO!!!!!!

Stumpy's Blues Bar Rox with Max! - September 18, 2009

Stumpy's Blues Bar, 2811 W Division St, Arlington - (817) 275-3231, hosts the comeback gig for this new Maxfield Parish line-up on Saturday Oct 25. It is one of the area's premier clubs with tons of stuff to do, lots of cool people and top notch service.

As you may know, a few women have come and gone through the line-up recently. We think Mel, the current female set of pipes, will be a keeper.

If you haven't seen Max. P in a while, well, we know you haven't seen Max. P in a while...there is a lot of new material. Hail Storm, Blondie, Toadies, Frans Ferdinane, Chilie Peppers...and a whole lot more.

The guys can't wait...uh the girl can't wait either...to get this one under their belts. Come get it under your belt too.

Nose to the Grind Stone - August 8, 2009

Maxfield Parish, a simi- household name in these parts (1 out of 10,000 local residents has heard of the band) is scratching the surface if the local scene once again. A new line-up and revamped set list should make an impact.

JC has held it together whil the band hit the skids 2 Februaries ago. A guitarist and drummer, Rusty and Casey, have stuck for almost a year now and the band has done several tune up gigs. 3 females have intered the fray and one of them, Mel, has showd signs of being able to hang. We hope she does. Now is the time to make a push. Max. P. will need your help.

There is a major gig booked for Stumpy's Blues bar on Sat, Oct 24. A few others may show up on the calendar before then. Stumpy's is in Arlington and is known as an "A" room venue. It is an extremey fun place and draws a crowd whether there is a band or not. You will have to mark that date down and BE There.

The Maxsters are hard at work adding new material to their sets. Look for more hard edged music to be added to the already diverse country, rock and disco. The goal is to, once again, reach the point of relentlessly keeping your ass on the dance floor.

Stay Tuned. This is not a drill.

Girl, Girls, Girls... - July 15, 2009

Adrena....very nice but not for us. Shay...energetic but family issues. Will we ever find a girl?

Maybe. Mel is her name and here are some pix. She comes from up north and loves BIO -HAZRD. Our kinda woman! We'll see if she sticks. We haven't had much luck with our feminine side lately, but, 3 times is supposed to be a charm.

We hope this one works because, even though JC found his feminine side years ago, Rusty does not look good in a bra and Casey is too concervative to know what a Feminine side is.

Goin Downtown.... - June 24, 2009

It is located in downtown Ft Worth at 10110 Houston ST. There will be a girl who calls her act Acoustical Sunshine opening and we go on at 10pm. We play till midnight or when the cows come home, which ever comes first. We are rehearsing hard for this. C'ya.

GIGS!!! - May 22, 2009

This Sunday, May 24th, Memorial Day Weekend, the brand new line-up of Maxfield Parish will make its debute at THE RIG, 6308 South Frewway (35w), just south of Loop 820. take the Altames St exit and you are there. Plus you can not miss the actaul huge oil RIG and sign.

It is actually an open mic night to which we have been invited to perform. There is no official start time but we will be there by 8:30. We will get one set. The rest of the time will be party time since it is a long weekend.

So, come meet Shay and the new guys and see my short hair cut...WHAT?!

You oughta Know! - May 12, 2009

Rock-n-Roll. Right when your bubble gets some air in it, something comes along to try and pop it. It's kinda' like...one day you get a really cool new member and the next day you lose you weekly House Band gig. Yep, we get all excited about adding Shay to our line-up and, then, the very next day, we get a call from the Lil Bit of Texas general manager saying they are making cutbacks, which means no more live music on Sundays. We had been the house band on Sundays for over 2 months. We won over all the regulars and made a lot of new friends, so not all was lost. We look back with fondness at all the good times. Now we search for new stages. You know, for Max. P. this is a minor setback and we will only get stronger. Watch out DFW.

A new female in Town - May 11, 2009

We would like to extend a huge thanx to all the women that showed up for our lead singer try outs. They all kicked ass and, if you know a band that needs one, we got a lot of names to give you. Special thanx go to Shelby (a very talented young person) and Chrissie Sue (one hell of a belter). But, eventually, last night, at Lil Bit of Texas, a girl named Shay took the show. The guys liked her but the positive feed back from the crowd and ever important bartender sealed the deal. So...she's in. You are gonna have to check us out now...for sure.

Max Rox Muther's day!!! - May 10, 2009

Tonight, Mother's Day evening, at www.myspace.com/lilbitoftexasbarandgrill, Max. P. will have a special Muther's day Show. Just south of Miller Brewey on the I-35 service road. We will be auditioning a mother live tonight as well in the form of a female vocalist that may want to join the band...we'll see. You can see to, if you come out tonight. Rememeber the place has no cover charge, a grill and happy hour all day Sunday, which will make it a cool summer after the lake hang out.

Happy MaMa's day to all

Girls, Girls, Girls - May 5, 2009

Or should we say, women? JC, Rusty and Casey are learning a lot of new songs so they can function as a 3piece, but, they are on the hunt for a good female singer. Two have made an impression, Shelby and Chrissie Sue. They can be seen in the photo section of this site. They are hot and can sing. However, we are still looking and taking our time to find the perminate replacement. If you know a band that needs a female singer, and we have not picked one of the above mentioned women, we will give you their contact info for they are good. We just ain't made up our minds yet.

The latest to come out was Chrissy Sue. She has a great attitude and a full voice with ability to hit high. The crowd at Lil Bit of Texas loved her.

We figure, any singer that comes out just to sing 2 songs is someone that gives their all. Shelby and Chrissie are a couple of the toughest you will find.

Female Try Outs - April 27, 2009

We had one spunky female who tried out at practice for our vacant singer position and also volunteered to come and do a live auditon at our Sunday Lil Bit Of Texas Show. This strawbwerry blonde cutie is named Shelby. She drove all the way out to our gig just to sing 3 songs. That is the kind of determination we are looking for. She did well and received good response from the crowd. She is in the running for the postion for sure but she understands we are still looking. Check out the picture link for more Pix of Shelby in action with the band and some of the Lil Bit Locals.

Female Vocalist Needed! - April 19, 2009

With the departure of Adrena, Max. P. is looking for a Female singer/ Musician. Not to be sexist, but, the harsh realities for a cover band demand a wide range of vocal styles, and, JC and Casey have the male parts covered. (That sounded funny.)
Anyway...we need a singer who can hit the higher stuff and give the band a bit of a feminine touch. Sorry Dudes. The abilty to play or learn keys would be a good thing to add to the band as well.

So check out the set list link on this site and, if you know anyone that may want to try out, please send them our way.

One Down - April 10, 2009

This is Rock and Roll and, sometimes, strange things happen. Adrena, our superstar vocalist with the talent to win American idol, and who blessed Maxfield Parish with her voice for 6 months, has taken an indefinite hiatus from the band. It just goes to show you that, even if the stars align just right, some things just don't go as planned. Here is the story:

November 08, Adrena is ready to make her debut with Max. P at the Peppermill. The day before the gig, she trips over the family dog while giving her preciuos daughter a bath and hits her nose and head on a table. OWWWW! The next day, at work, she becomes natious and gets a sever headache, the classic signs of a concusion. Her co-workers have to convince her to go to the hospital and her dad provides the ride. Yep, the doctors tell her its a pretty good concusion and all the can do is give her anit-nausia pills to help her ride it out. She come to the gig and barely makes it through with a splitting head ache and several trips to the bathroom. A week goes by and the effects of the concusion are gone..right?

Wrong. The incident left a medial problem that has effected her health ever since and can not be corrected till the summer. Then there will be recovery time to boot. That could be an extra several months before she would be back at peak performance. A tough decision had to be made...and was.

JC takes full blame, right or wrong, for bringing the issue up for Rusty and Casey to decide. It was not a unanimous verdict, but, all agreed in the end to give Adrena time to recover, knowing full well it may be the last time Max. P. had the privaledge to have Adrena as a memebr.

A phone call was made to Adrean and the situation explained. She took the news very professionally. She came to practice last night to drop off some equipment and to say good bye. Man, this business can hurt sometimes.

A search is under way for a new singer/musician. The band hopes to see Adrena on American Idol...she is that good and deserves fame and fortune.

KZPS BIke Nite! - April 5, 2009

The Thursday 92.5 Lonesatr party was a blast. We had about 30 of our friends show up and a couple won prizes (tickets to the races and 38 Special). The Bikers that braved the 30-60 mile an hour winds brought a lot of hot women with them and fine asses and leather were everywhere.

After the Majority of bikers left, the infamous Lil Bit of Texas late night bunch came in and the whole scene changed into a funky/modern/metal scene, which is right up out ally. They almost would not let us leave. Thats a good thing.

Little Bit of Kick Ass!! - March 23, 2009

Here's the scoop. Our first Sunday night show at Little Bit of Texas was a success. There was drama before the show but Max. P. is hard to keep down.

The day actually started the day before, with a good 5 hour practice on Saturday. Adrena had the sniffles ... it was an omen.

Sunday morning, Adrena woke up with a severe case of bronchitis, went to the doctor and was told to stay home. Thus leaving the 3 guys to fend for themselves and JC to handle all the lead vocals. Casey steped up as well providing back ups that he had never done before...and did a powerful job. The show went on.

Now, yes, it was a Sunday and most would not think much of it. However, Little Bit of Texas is not just another club. The Manager/Owner is one of those rare breeds that is in it for the long haul. Great service, clean bathrooms, a grill, all the games you would want to play, tons of seating, a huge dance floor and top caliber live entertainment. For the southern regions of FT. Worth, soon, it will be the place to be.

The band was a little stressed at first, being a new club and all. Plus, the guys set up a new PA configuration (which, may we mention, DID NOT FEEDBACK AT ALL). As the first few songs showed the crowd was digging the band, Rusty, JC and Casey relaxed, dug in and gave them what they wanted.

The crowd came in shifts. There were distinctly different early, late and graveyard crowds. And, of course, the last bunch was the rowdiest...(a lesson we are learning). Everyone told us they loved us and we had some offers to play private parties. The bartender said we were the best thing to happen to the club in a long time. All good signs, but what would management think?

We'll tell you what management thought.

We got an email Monday morning from the Owner/GM saying he heard we were "great". Not only do we have more Sundays coming up, but, he has some special gigs for us that he is going to promote on the radio and in newspapers. Guess you could say, for this version of Maxfield parish, we have hit our first homerun. Now, all we have to do is live up to the hype. No Pressure.

Now remember, we did this without our secret weapon, Adrena. Its like the special forces went in and softened up the target, won the territory and readied the place for invasion. Little Bit of Texas will bare the full brunt of our arsenal next Sunday, March 29, 9p-1a. You are all invited to witness the carnage.
